Hoping to widen their buffer at the top of the Ligue 1 table on Sunday evening, PSG will welcome Rennes to the Parc des Princes.

Starting with the hosts, although PSG might have seen their Champions League adventure come to an abrupt end at the hands of Bayern Munich last week, the French heavyweights are enjoying an extended domestic flurry. Last seen picking up a 2-1 victory away at Brest, Christophe Galtier’s men hold a 10-point buffer at the top of the table and are breezing towards another Ligue 1 crown. In fact, along with opening March with an action-packed 4-2 victory against Nantes, the former Nice boss has seen his side win each of their last four top-flight contests. Still holding a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third, it should also be highlighted that PSG have racked up 13 strikes on their four-match domestic winning run. Yet to suffer a single Ligue 1 defeat on home soil this season, Galtier’s side will be looking to make a statement here.

As for the visitors, suffering a shock Europa League exit at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk last month, Rennes are in the midst of an extended rut. Now sat four points adrift of finding a route into the top-four, Bruno Genesio’s men have managed to muster just a pair of wins from their last nine straight domestic contests across all formats. Last seen putting in a toothless display as they had to settle for a sluggish 0-0 stalemate away at Auxerre, Les Rennais have also shown extended struggles on the road. Including a 3-1 drumming against Toulouse on February 12th, Rennes have recorded just one win away from Roazhon Park since the start of January. Suffering a 1-0 loss when they last traveled to the Parc des Princes last season, we are backing a similar outcome in the capital.

Bet: PSG 8/15 to beat Rennes in Sunday’s Ligue 1 showdown @ 888sport
