Bitesize Prediction: PSV vs Zurich – 13/10/22

Competition: Europa League

Market: Cody Gakpo to score anytime

Odds: 6/5 @ 888sport

Looking to lay down another Europa League marker on Thursday night, PSV will welcome Zurich to the Philips Stadion.

Starting with the hosts, while PSV might still be sat outside the top-two in Group A, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men are enjoying a recent purple patch. Putting in a rampant Europa League display last week as they cruised their way to an eye-catching 5-1 romp away at Zurich, the Dutch giants will be smelling the chance to lay down another marker here. Picking up some perfect momentum over the weekend as they grabbed a 1-0 victory against Heerenveen on the road, the ex-Manchester United boss has seen his side win four of their last five matchups across all formats. Likewise, bagging the winner on domestic duties a few days ago, PSV will be calling on Cody Gakpo to spearhead their charge here. In fact, along with bagging a brace in Switzerland last week, the Dutch international has already notched 14 strikes since opening the 2022/23 campaign.

As for the visitors. while Zurich might have clinched another European finish last season, the Swiss outfit are in the midst of an extended rut. Sat rock-bottom of the League A table and failing to pick up a single win from any of their opening three Europa League contests, Genesio Colatrella’s men will know that they face another huge task on Thursday night. Blown away on home soil last week as they were hit with a 5-1 drumming against PSV on home soil, Zurich have remarkably failed to win any of their previous nine matchups across all formats. With that nightmare run of form stemming all the way back to August 25th, the midweek guests have shown a string of issues at both ends of the pitch. Shipping nine goals on European action so far this season, we’re backing Gakpo to extend on his free-scoring run here.

Bet: Cody Gakpo 6/5 to score anytime against Zurich in Thursday’s Europa League battle @ 888sport
