Competition: Indian Super League
Market: Goa draw no bet
Odds: 8/11 @ 1xBet
Two sides who find themselves scrapping it out at opposite ends of the ISL table, Goa will travel to Punjab on Thursday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Punjab might have got February underway with an action-packed 3-2 victory against Bengaluru, it appears that was just a minor boost for the Shers. Spending the whole of this season battling it out at the foot of the Super League standings, Panagiotis Dilmperis’ side have continued to show a string of glaring issues. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they slumped to a 3-1 drumming at home against East Bengal, the one-time Apollon boss has seen his squad muster just a single point from any of their previous four ISL appearances. Likewise, Punjab have also claimed just a sole victory from any of their last 12 consecutive Super League outings – a rut that stems all the way back to December 6th. Signing off January with a 2-1 loss at the hands of Jamshedpur, it should also be highlighted that Dilmperis’ men have mustered just one win from any of their previous six showdowns in front of their own supporters.
As for the visitors, while Goa might have already accepted that they will be unable to get their hands on a second Super League crown this season, Manolo Marquez’s side have enjoyed a real purple patch. Securing what was a deserved 2-0 victory against the Kerala Blasters last weekend, the Gaurs have won each of their previous three ISL appearances by an aggregate score of 7-2. In fact, signing off January with another 2-0 win against Chennaiyin, Thursday’s guests have mustered 15 points from their last six Super League appearances. Storming their way to a silver medal finish this season, Goa have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous 16 consecutive outings – a run that stems all the way back to October 19th. Likewise, it should also be noted, Marquez’s side have lost just a single Super League showdown away from the Fatorda Stadium so far this season. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class, we are backing an away draw no bet here.
