Bitesize Prediction: QPR vs Fulham – 02/04/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Fulham win

Odds: 8/11 @ 888sport

Simply hoping to extend their buffer at the top of the Championship table, Fulham will make the trip to west London rivals QPR on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, last seen heading into March’s international break with a woeful display on home soil, QPR mark their return in the midst of a real Championship struggle. Eventually getting hit with a 3-1 defeat against leading relegation scrappers Peterborough, Mark Warburton’s men have really freefallen their way down the table. Now sat outside the play-off places, the former Rangers boss has seen his side lose four of their last five outings. Also suffering a 2-1 defeat at home against Cardiff on their extended rut, QPR have remarkably won just one of their previous 12 outings, a run that stems all the way back to January 29th. Hit for four when they made the trip across west London to Craven Cottage back in October, Warburton’s side should be bracing themselves for another stern test here.

As for the visitors, heading into March’s international break with a sluggish 1-0 defeat away at West Brom, there is no doubt that Fulham will be seeking an immediate response here. Appearing to cruise their way towards an immediate Premier League return, Marco Silva’s men also hold a commanding eight-point buffer at the top of the table. With attacking talisman Aleksandar Mitrović only continuing on a remarkable free-scoring run this season, the former Everton boss should be smelling the chance to pick up west London bragging rights on Saturday afternoon. Likewise, it should be highlighted, Fulham have collected 37 points away from Craven Cottage so far this season, the best away day record of any Championship outfit. Picking up a 4-1 romp when the two sides faced off back in October, we’re backing a similar away win here.
