Bitesize Prediction: QPR vs Sunderland – 14/02/23

Competition: Championship

Market: Sunderland double chance

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

Hoping to find a route back into the play-off places on Tuesday night, Sunderland will make the trip to west London when they meet QPR.

Starting with the hosts, putting in another downbeat display over the weekend as they suffered a 2-1 loss at home against London rivals Millwall, QPR find themselves in the midst of an extended rut. Almost sat in Championship limbo, Neil Critchley’s men have come under real scrutiny since opening 2023. In fact, since returning from the World Cup’s winter break, the Hoops are without a win from any of their previous nine domestic matchups across all formats. With that nightmare blip stemming all the way back to a 1-0 win away at Preston on December 17th, QPR have also gained a reputation for their struggles on home soil. Including last weekend’s 2-1 defeat against Millwall, it should be highlighted that Tuesday’s hosts are without a Championship victory in west London since the end of October.

As for the visitors, while Sunderland might have seen their FA Cup adventure come to an end at the hands of Premier League outfit Fulham last week, the Black Cats are enjoying a stellar second-tier romp. Putting in another eye-catching display a few days ago as they claimed a 1-0 victory at home against Reading, Tony Mowbray’s men have continued to gain a string of plaudits from across the Championship. While they might have only made their second-tier return this season, the former Blackburn boss has a stunning play-off spot at the top of his agenda in 2023. Making the trip to west London on Tuesday night sat just one-point adrift of breaking into the top-six, Sunderland have suffered just a single Championship defeat since back on December 12th. Likewise, unbeaten away from the Stadium on Light since the middle of October, we’re backing an away double chance here.

Bet: Sunderland double chance against QPR 4/6 for Tuesday’s Championship matchup @ 888sport
