Bitesize Prediction: QPR vs Watford – 14/01/24

Competition: Championship

Market: Watford draw no bet

Odds: 20/21 @ 1xBet

Hoping to make up some ground in the play-off chase this weekend, Watford will make the trip to west London on Sunday lunchtime when they meet QPR.

Starting with the hosts, while QPR might have eventually clung to their Championship status last season, the Hoops are facing another major second-tier struggle. Last seen crashing out of the FA Cup following a 3-2 loss at home against Premier League outfit Bournemouth, the west London outfit are firmly sat in the drop zone and four points adrift of safety. Opening the New Year with a worrying 2-1 defeat against fellow strugglers Cardiff, Marti Cifuentes’ side are without a win from any of their previous seven appearances across all competitions. With that extended struggle stemming all the way back to December 9th, QPR have also gained a reputation for their continued issues on home soil. In fact, Sunday’s hosts have lost all of their last three showdowns at Loftus Road by an aggregate score of 6-3. Likewise, with just a pair of victories to their name in west London over the past 10 months, Cifuentes’ men should face another tricky test here.

As for the visitors, although Watford might have continued to struggle with their consistency this season, the Hornets are still dreaming of the chance to book a shock play-off ticket. Extending on their FA Cup adventure last week as they snatched a 2-1 win against National League high-flyers Chesterfield, Valerien Ismael will take plenty of positives away from his side’s extended success on the road. It should be highlighted, the former West Brom boss has seen his squad register 10 points from their previous four Championship contests on their travels. Smelling a golden opportunity when they travel to Loftus Road this weekend, Watford will certainly be excited by their most recent meeting against Sunday’s hosts. Storming to a 4-0 romp when they welcomed the leading relegation scrappers to Vicarage Road for their reverse Championship showdown on August 5th, we are predicting a similar away victory for the play-off outsiders here.

Bet: Watford draw no bet against QPR 20/21 for Sunday’s Championship battle @ 1xBet
