Competition: Scottish Championship
Market: Raith win
Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport
Looking to secure back-to-back Championship victories on Tuesday night, Raith will welcome a struggling Hamilton to Stark’s Park.
Starting with the hosts, making an immediate return to winning ways last weekend as they claimed a deserved 2-0 victory at home against Queen’s Park, Raith should be smelling another golden chance on Tuesday night. Now winning two of their last three Championship appearances, Ian Murray’s men will now have their sights firmly set on securing a top-half finish this season. Storming their way to a remarkable 5-1 romp against Cove Rangers on March 18th, Ian Murray’s men have continued on a real rugged run on home soil. In fact, including last weekend’s 2-0 win against Queen’s Park, the midweek hosts have lost just one of their last 12 straight showdowns at Stark’s Park – a run that stems all the way back to November 19th. Despite suffering Challenge Cup heartbreak at the hands of Hamilton last month, Murray’s side will be looking to gain some revenge when they return to Fife here.
As for the visitors, although Hamilton might have sprung a real Challenge Cup upset on March 26th as they snatched a 1-0 victory against Tuesday’s opponents, John Rankin’s men came crashing back down to earth in some style over the weekend. Putting in a woeful display away at Dundee as they were hit with a woeful 7-0 drumming, the Accies have only continued on a Championship nightmare this season. Sat rock-bottom of the table and already six points adrift of safety, the Lanarkshire-based outfit are unsurprisingly tipped as a landslide relegation contender in 2023. Mustering just one win from their last five showdowns against Championship opposition, Hamilton have certainly gained a reputation for their some rather glaring defensive issues. Suffering a 3-1 loss in their last trip to Stark’s Park back on November 5th, we are expecting a similar home win.
