Competition: MLS

Market: Real Salt Lake win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Looking to extend on what has been a stellar purple patch, Real Salt Lake will welcome Columbus to the Rio Tinto Stadium in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, last seen making an immediate return to winning ways with an eye-catching display on home soil, the mood in Real Salt Lake’s camp should be at a real high. Eventually cruising their way to a deserved 2-0 victory against San Jose on home soil, Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni has seen his side gain plenty of praise from across the MLS. In fact, mustering 28 points since opening the 2022 campaign, RSL find themselves sat second in the Western Conference. Making a string of improvements over the past few months, Salt Lake have also now won four of their last five domestic matchups. With their purple patch underlined by a thumping 3-0 victory against Houston when heading into June’s international break, there is no doubt that Mastroeni’s side will be smelling the chance to lay down another marker here.

As for the visitors, throwing away the lead on their return from the international break last weekend and having to settle for a single point, Columbus have continued to show some worrying inconsistencies this season. Despite heading into their break with a much-welcomed 2-1 victory against Atlanta, that is just the second win that Caleb Porter’s men have collected from any of their last 12 contests. Opening this weekend’s fixtures still battling it out at the foot of the Eastern Conference, the Crew have also recorded just a single MLS victory outside of Ohia since way back on February 18th. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, getting hit with a 1-0 loss when they last faced off against Real Salt Lake at the Rio Tinto Stadium back in 2019, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Real Salt Lake 10/11 to beat Columbus Crew in Sunday’s MLS battle @ 888sport
