Competition: Spanish Segunda

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 11/10 @ BetUS

Two sides battling it out at the top of the Segunda standings, Real Valladolid will welcome Leganes to the Jose Zorrilla on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Real Valladolid might have lost their La Liga status last season, it is no secret that Paulo Pezzolano’s men have their sights firmly set on securing an immediate top-flight return. Last seen putting in another action-packed performance as they secured a 3-2 victory away at Racing Santander, the Pucela are enjoying a real purple patch. Extending on their Copa de Rey adventure on November 1st as they secured a 5-1 romp away at lower-league Pena Deportiva, the former Cruzeiro boss has seen his squad win each of their previous three appearances across all formats by an aggregate score of 10-3. Likewise, winning four of their previous five domestic outings, Valladolid will also be excited by their continued success on home soil. Including another 3-2 win against Mirandes last month, Pezzolano’s side have won all of their last five showdowns at the Jose Zorrilla. It should also be noted, the Pucela have bagged 11 strikes on that five-match winning run in front of their own supporters.

As for the visitors, although Leganes might have been frustrated last season as they eventually had to settle for a bottom-half finish, El Lega have come roaring back in some style. Continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across the Segunda this year, Borja Jimniez finds the mood in his camp at a red-hot high. Last seen putting in another stellar display as they secured a 2-1 victory at home against Levante, the Madrid-based outfit open this weekend’s fixtures holding a commanding six-point buffer at the top of the table. In fact, Leganes have won each of their previous six straight domestic appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 15-1. Gaining a fearsome reputation for their free-scoring performances in the final third, Friday’s guests will also be excited by their most recent showdown against Valladolid. Storming their way to a 4-1 romp when they welcomed the Pucela to town on July 22nd for a friendly meeting, neutrals could be treated to another enjoyable affair here.
