Competition: National League
Market: Rochdale win
Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS
Looking to potential climb to the top of the National League table on Tuesday night, Rochdale will welcome Maidenhead to the Spotland Stadium.
Starting with the hosts, left frustrated last season as they failed to book a play-off ticket, Rochdale have their sights firmly set on a top-seven finish this time around. Opening the 2024/25 campaign with a routine 3-0 romp away at Boston on August 10th, Jimmy McNulty’s men have continued to shine since getting things underway last month. Last seen over the weekend putting in another dominant performance as they secured a 2-0 victory against Aldershot, the Manchester-based outfit will be confident of laying down another early marker here. Signing off August with a stellar 3-0 win at home against Woking, Rochdale have now won all of their previous three National League showdowns. Pencilled in as a standout contender on Tuesday night, McNulty’s camp have also gained a reputation for their extended defensive resolve. In fact, the Blues have not concerned a single fifth-tier strike in almost 450 minutes of action.
As for the visitors, while Maidenhead might have suffered just a single defeat from any of their final six National League appearances last season, the Magpies have struggled to find any kind of stability this time around. Opening the new campaign with a downbeat 2-0 loss at home against Eastleigh, Alan Devonshire’s camp lost all of their first three showdowns by an aggregate score of 5-1. Likewise, despite a shock 3-1 win against play-off hopefuls Barnet last month, that is the only victory that Maidenhead have collected from any of their first seven appearances. Opening the midweek fixtures sat in the relegation zone, Tuesday’s guests have shown some extended defensive issues. Signing off August with an action-packed 4-3 defeat away at Aldershot, the Berkshire-based outfit certainly have another stern challenge on their hands here. Hit with a 1-0 loss when they travelled to Rochdale back on March 23rd, we are expecting a similar outcome.
