Competition: Championship
Market: Ipswich win

Looking to mark their return from the international break with another Championship statement, Ipswich will make the trip to Rotherham on Friday night.
Starting with the hosts, although Rotherham might have eventually clung to their Championship status last season, it appears that the Millers are destined for yet another relegation scrap this time around. While Matt Taylor’s men might have been last seen heading into October’s international break with a 1-1 stalemate away at Southampton, the Yorkshire-based outfit have had little to cheer about since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Marking their return on Friday night sat in the drop zone and already four points adrift of safety, Rotherham will be more than aware that they face another huge challenge here. Signing off September with a routine 2-0 defeat at the hands of Cardiff, Taylor’s downbeat squad have managed to muster just a single win from any of their previous 11 appearances across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to August 8th. Likewise, hit with a 4-1 drumming when they last met Friday’s guests on FA Cup duties back on January 7th, the Millers are rightfully tipped as a landslide underdog here.
As for the visitors, while Rotherham might find themselves in the midst of a public Championship struggle, Ipswich have only continued on a remarkable purple patch. Although the Blues might have only made their second-tier return this season, it is no secret that Kieran McKenna’s high-flying squad are tipped as another leading promotion contender this time around. Heading into October’s international break with another stellar display as they eventually claimed a 4-2 win at home against Preston, the one-time Manchester United coach has seen his squad gain a string of plaudits. Marking their return on Friday night holding a commanding eight-point buffer from slipping out of the automatic promotion places, Ipswich will be smelling the chance to make another Championship statement here. Mustering a staggering 28 points from just their opening 11 second-tier showdowns and really gaining a reputation for their clinical performances in the final third, they have also not suffered a single competitive defeat away from Portman Road since way back on February 7th. Given the huge recent gulf in class, we are expecting an away victory this weekend.
