Competition: USL

Market: San Antonio win

Odds: 3/5 @ Pribet

Looking to make it back-to-back USL victories in the early hours of Thursday morning, San Antonio will welcome local rivals El Paso to Toyota Field.

Starting with the hosts, managing to make what was a crucial return to winning ways last weekend, San Antonio will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on. Clinching a 1-0 victory against Memphis, Alen Marcina’s men are tipped as a standout contender to claim another Western Conference play-off ticket this season. Drawing a line under their worrying five-match winless run on Sunday, the Texas-based outfit have continued to gain a reputation for their extended success on home soil. Along with signing off March with a 2-1 win against Monterey Bay, San Antonio are unbeaten in all of their previous 15 consecutive USL showdowns in front of their own supporters. With that purple patch stemming back over the past 12 months, Marcina’s side will be smelling a potential opportunity when they return to Toyota Field in the early hours of Thursday.

As for the visitors, while El Paso might have opened up the 2024 campaign with their sights set on securing another play-off ticket, Wilmer Cabrera’s men have continued to show a string of worrying issues. Last seen making an immediate return to losing ways as they slumped to a routine 3-1 drumming at home against Birmingham, the Blues sit rock-bottom of the Western Conference and have managed to put just eight points on the board from any of their 13 USL appearances this season. Mustering just a pair of wins across any competition since opening the new campaign, El Paso should also be concerned by their most recent showdown against their local rivals. Hit with a 2-1 loss when they welcomed San Antonio to the Southwest University Park 12 months ago, they have also secured just a single victory from any of their five previous meetings.

Bet: San Antonio 3/5 to beat El Paso in Thursday’s USL showdown @ Pribet
