Bitesize Prediction: San Marino vs Gibraltar – 15/11/24

Competition: Nations League

Market: Both teams to score – No

Odds: 4/7 @ BetUS

In what could prove to be an uneventful Nations League showdown on Friday night, San Marino will welcome Gibraltar to Serravalle.

Starting with the hosts, while San Marino might have secured a famous 1-0 victory against Liechtenstein, it appears that might have just been a minor boost for the Sky Blues. Last seen on October 13th putting in another toothless performance as they slumped to a routine 2-0 loss away at Andorra Roberto Cevoli’s men have recorded just a single victory across any format since way back in 2004. Simply with their sights set on avoiding lifting another Nations League wooden spoon, the one-time Monza boss will have a continued headache over his side’s extended struggles in the final third. Falling to a 1-0 defeat against Gibraltar in their most recent League D appearance, San Marino have also drawn three consecutive blanks. Likewise, aside from that iconic 1-0 win against Liechtenstein a couple of months ago, that is just the second goal that Friday’s hosts have recorded in 700 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, although some in Gibraltar’s camp might have been disappointed last month as they eventually had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate away at Liechtenstein, Julio Cesar Ribas’ men are sat in the driving seat to punch a League C promotion this year. Claiming a nail-biting 1-0 victory when they welcomed San Marino to town on October 10th, the former Penarol boss will be calling on a repeat performance this weekend. Signing off their pre-Nations League campaign with another 1-0 win against Andorra, Friday’s guests will be excited by their continued success at the back. In fact, along with recording back-to-back clean sheets, Gibraltar have come away unscathed in four of their previous five matchups across all competitions. However, playing out that uneventful 0-0 draw when they travelled over to Liechtenstein last month, it should be noted that Ribas’ came have failed to register a single strike on foreign soil since way back in September 2022.

Bet: Both teams *not* to score at San Marino vs Gibraltar 4/7 for Friday’s Nations League contest @ BetUS
