Looking to spring an upset on the road this weekend and clinch back-to-back Serie A victories, Monza will travel to the Mapei Stadium on Friday night when they meet Sassuolo.

Starting with the hosts, although Sassuolo might have claimed that famous 1-0 victory at home against Juventus last month, Alessio Dionisi’s side have continued to struggle with their consistency. Last seen slumping to an action-packed 4-2 loss away at Italian giants Sassuolo, the Neroverdi have won just a pair of their last eight top-flight appearances. With their recent wobble highlighted by a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Salernitana, Sassuolo essentially find themselves sat in top-flight limbo. However, although Dionisi’s men might face a real uphill struggle in their bid to break into the top-10, they will be glad to make a return to the Mapei Stadium on Friday night. Including a 3-2 victory against Cremonese prior to March’s international break, it should be noted that the Neroverdi are unbeaten in each of their last six showdowns in front of their own supporters – a run that stems back to February 17th.

As for the visitors, although Monza might have only made their Serie A return this season, the Biancorossi have gained a string of admirers. Last seen putting in a stellar display as they secured a famous 2-0 victory at home against newly-crowned champions Napoli, Raffaele Palladino’s side are in the midst of what has become a real purple patch. Now unbeaten in each of their last seven straight domestic appearances – a run that stems all the way back to April 2nd – the Lombardy-based outfit have also picked up some heavyweight scalps. Along with storming their way to an action-packed 3-2 win against Fiorentina last month, Monza also stunned former champions Inter Milan on April 15th. Skyrocketing their way into the top-half, Palladino’s side should be smelling the chance to spring another upset on Friday night. In what could be an enjoyable affair here, we are expecting both teams to score this weekend.
