Bitesize Prediction: Sheffield United vs Blackburn – 23/02/22

Competition: Championship

Market: Sheffield United win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Looking to build off of what was a real flurry over the weekend, Sheffield United will welcome Blackburn to Bramall Lane on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Sheffield United might have marked their Championship return in the midst of a real nightmare last year, the Blades have really come roaring back. Putting on a rampant display over the weekend and storming their way to a 4-0 romp against Swansea, Paul Heckingbottom’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Skyrocketing their way back into the play-off places and now looking to clinch a shock Premier League return this season, Wednesday’s hosts are unbeaten in each of their last eight outings, a run that stems back to January 15th. Looking to extend on their recent purple patch here, Sheffield United have also continued to shine with their displays at the back. It should be highlighted, Heckingbottom’s side have gone over 400 minutes without picking the ball out of their net.

As for the visitors, although Blackburn might have gained plenty of plaudits from across the Championship this season, they do find themselves in the midst of a recent struggle. Last seen having to settle for a 0-0 stalemate against a downbeat West Brom on the road, Tony Mowbray’s men have come tumbling away from the automatic promotion places. In the midst of a four-match winless run and with just a single victory to their name since January 15th, the Rovers have also continued to show some real problems in the final third. It should be noted, Wednesday’s guests have failed to find the net in any of their last four appearances. Knowing that they should face a stern test against a revitalized Sheffield United in midweek and suffering a 2-1 loss in their last trip to Bramall Lane, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
