Bitesize Prediction: Sheffield United vs Swansea – 02/10/24

Competition: Championship

Market: Both teams to score – No

Odds: 1/1 @ 1xBet

Two sides who have their sights set on punching a play-off ticket this season, Sheffield United will welcome Swansea to Bramall Lane on Wednesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Sheffield United might have lost their Premier League status with a real whimper last season, the Blades are pencilled in as a leading contender to book an immediate top-flight return. While Chris Wilder’s men might have felt that they missed out on a potential opportunity last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate away at Championship returners Portsmouth, the former Middlesbrough boss has seen his side continue to shine on either side of September’s international break. Heading into the fortnight interval with a gritty 1-0 win against Watford, Sheffield United have collected 10 points from their previous four Championship appearances. Sat within striking distance of finding a route into the automatic promotion places, Wednesday’s hosts have gained a reputation for their defensive steel. In fact, the Blades have not conceded a single strike in any of their previous four Championship showdowns.

As for the visitors, while Swansea might have only limped their way to a bottom-half finish last season, Luke Williams’ men are enjoying an eye-catching flurry this time around. Marking their return from September’s international break with a 1-0 victory at home against Norwich, the Swans have collected seven points from their previous three Championship appearances. However, crashing out of the EFL Cup on August 28th following a shock 1-0 loss at the hands of League One outfit Wycombe, the former Notts County boss will be concerned by a nightmare record against Wednesday’s hosts. Slumping to a 3-0 drumming when they last travelled to Bramall Lane back in February 2023, Swansea have lost all of their previous three battles against the promotion contenders by an aggregate score of 8-0. It should also be noted, Williams’ men have failed to find the net in any of their previous five consecutive showdowns.

Bet: Both teams *not* to score at Sheffield United vs Swansea 1/1 for Wednesday’s Championship battle @ 1xBet
