Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Shelbourne win

Odds: 21/20 @ 888sport

Looking to find a much-welcomed boost this weekend, Shelbourne will welcome the Finn Harps to Tolka Park on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of a nightmare display on their travels last weekend, Shelbourne have really come crashing back down to earth over recent weeks. Enjoying what was a stellar four-match winning run throughout May and gaining a host of plaudits, Damien Duff’s men have really failed to build off of that purple patch. With the former Chelsea star now seeking a boost on Friday night, fans around Tolka Park should at least find some solace from their side’s rather rugged displays on home soil. Last seen in front of their own supporters playing out a gritty 0-0 stalemate against a high-flying Dundalk, Duff’s squad have taken 10 points from their last four Premier Division fixtures in Dublin. Although they might find themselves sat in top-flight limbo, Shelbourne should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, last seen getting hit with a hard-fought 1-0 loss at the hands of Irish heavyweights Shamrock Rovers, it appears that the Finn Harps are destined to fill that relegation play-off spot. Already sat 10 points adrift of safety, the Blues are in the midst of a dreadful eight-match winless run. With that downbeat spell stemming all the way back to the end of April, Ollie Horgan’s men have only shown a string of issues at both ends of the pitch. Marking their return from the international break with a 3-0 drumming against Sligo, the Ballybofey-based side have also gained a reputation for their problems on the road. Collecting just two points from a possible 18 over their last six Premier Division showdowns away from Finn Park, Horgan’s side have also shipped at least a pair of goals in those six straight away day outings.

Bet: Shelbourne 21/20 to beat Finn Harps in Friday’s Irish Premier Division contest @ 888sport
