Competition: Chinese Super League

Market: Zhejiang Professional win

Odds: 1/1 @ Pribet

Hoping to make up some ground in the AFC Champions League chase, Zhejiang Professional will travel to Shenzhen Peng City on Tuesday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, although Shenzhen Peng City might have claimed a much-welcomed boost over the past fortnight, Jesus Tato’s men have drastically struggled to find any kind of stability since making their top-flight debut this season. Despite extending on their FA Cup adventure last weekend as they secured a 2-0 victory away at Qingdao Red Lions, the one-time Girona striker has seen his squad muster just a single victory from any of their previous 10 straight Super League appearances. With that run stemming all the way back to April 9th, the Guangdong-based outfit appear destined for a top-flight relegation scrap this year. Opening the midweek fixtures with just their goal difference keeping them outside of the drop zone, Tuesday’s hosts have also gained a worrying reputation for their glaring issues on home soil. Last seen in front of their own supporters suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Shanghai Shenhua, Shenzhen Peng City have lost all of their previous four showdowns at the Bao’an Stadium by an aggregate score of 12-2.

As for the visitors, although Zhejiang Professional might have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their first six Super League appearances when opening the 2024 campaign, the Green Giants have come roaring back in some style. Last seen over the weekend extending on their FA Cup adventure as they secured a routine 3-0 victory away at Jiangxi Lushan, Jordi Vinyals’ men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Continuing to skyrocket their way up the table and now looking to wrap up another AFC Champions League ticket, the former Barcelona coach should be smelling a golden opportunity here. Making a statement earlier in the month as they secured a 3-1 win against Changchun Yati, Tuesday’s guests have now won five of their previous six appearances across all competitions. With their recent purple patch highlighted by an action-packed 5-2 victory against Nantong Zhiyun, Zhejiang are pencilled in as a standout contender in midweek. Landing a 1-0 win when they last met Shenzhen on March 3rd, we are are expecting a similar outcome.
