Competition: NPL Victoria

Market: South Melbourne draw no bet

Odds: 4/5 @ 1xBet

Looking to extend their buffer at the top of the NPL Victoria table on Sunday morning, South Melbourne will welcome Oakleigh to the Lakeside Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, while South Melbourne might have been disappointed last season as they eventually had to settle for a silver medal finish, the Hellas are sat firmly in the driving seat this time around. Opening up this weekend’s fixtures holding a four-point buffer over the chasing pack, Esteban Quintas’ men will be confident of laying down another statement of intent here. Last seen putting in a thumping performance as they stormed their way to a 4-0 victory against Altona Magic, the Blues have won six of their previous seven NPL Victoria appearances – a purple patch that stems back to May 4th. Signing off May with an action-packed 4-2 win against Moreland, South Melbourne have enjoyed quite the free-scoring flurry in the final third. It should also be highlighted, along with collecting 12 points from their last five showdowns at the Lakeside Stadium, they have also won their previous three home fixtures by an aggregate score of 10-2.

As for the visitors, although Oakleigh might have opened June in the midst of their own respective purple patch, the Cannons have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen missing out on what was a potential opportunity as they slumped to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Green Gully, Chris Taylor’s side have lost each of their previous three NPL Victoria appearances. With their recent struggles underlined by a 3-1 drumming away at Dandenong on June 15th, Oakleigh have shipped nine goals on their three-match losing rut. Facing what should be a stern challenge when they travel to the league leaders this weekend, they will also be concerned by their most recent trip to the Lakeside Stadium. Falling to a 2-1 loss when they travelled to South Melbourne last season, Taylor’s side couldn’t have asked for a tougher challenge here. Given what has been a huge recent gulf in class, we are backing a home draw no bet.

Bet: South Melbourne draw no bet against Oakleigh 4/5 for Sunday’s NPL Victoria matchup @ 1xBet
