Bitesize Prediction: Southampton vs Brentford – 11/01/22

Competition: Premier League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 3/4 @ 888sport

Knowing that maximum points at St. Mary’s could see them break into the top-half, Brentford will make the trip to Southampton on Tuesday night in a matchup that could see chances at both ends.

Starting with the hosts, managing to extend on their FA Cup adventure over the weekend, Southampton should find the mood in their camp at a recent high. Eventually claiming an action-packed 3-2 win away at Championship outfit Swansea, the Saints also announced their new takeover last week. Last seen on Premier League duties claiming a deserved 1-1 draw against Champions League hopefuls Tottenham on home soil, Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men are enjoying a four-match unbeaten run. With their recent boost highlighted by a 3-2 win away at West Ham on Boxing Day, the former RB Leipzig boss will be calling on his side to lay down another marker in midweek. Likewise, it should also be noted, six of Southampton’s last seven fixtures have finished with both teams finding the net.

As for the visitors, also managing to extend on their own FA Cup run over the weekend as Brentford landed a 4-1 romp away at Port Vale, Thomas Frank’s men have gained a host of plaudits this season. Only making their Premier League debut last summer, the Bees know they’re sat firmly in pole position to extend on their top-flight status. Opening 2022 with an eye-catching 2-1 turnaround victory against Aston Villa on home soil, Tuesday’s guests will also be boosted by their last trip to St. Mary’s. Claiming a 2-0 win in last season’s EFL Cup, Frank’s men will break into the top-half of the standings if they can grab maximum points on the south coast. It should be noted, with Brentford seeing six of their last eight matchups away from Griffin Park finish with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Both teams to score at Southampton vs Brentford 3/4 for Tuesday’s Premier League matchup @ 888sport
