Competition: MLS
Market: Under 3.5 goals
Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves seeking some stability this weekend, Sporting Kansas will welcome New England to Children’s Mercy Park on Sunday night.
Starting with the hosts, after watching their three-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end prior to the international break, Sporting KC find themselves battling it out at the foot of the Western Conference. Eventually last seen signing off May with a 1-0 loss at home against Vancouver, Head Coach Peter Vermes has seen his side really come crashing back down to earth since opening the 2022 campaign. Despite cruising their way to a play-off place last season, the Wizards should try and take some solace from their largely rugged displays on home soil. Despite being last seen at Children’s Mercy Park getting hit with a 1-0 loss against the Whitecaps, that is the only defeat that Sporting Kansas have suffered in front of their own supporters from their last six outings. However, it should also be noted, Sunday’s hosts have seen five of their last seven domestic fixtures finish with under 3.5 goals.
As for the visitors, while New England might find themselves enjoying an extended unbeaten run on MLS duties, they do have the feel of a side seeking some stability. Last seen heading into the international break with a 1-1 draw at home against Philadelphia, Bruce Arena’s men are still sat outside the play-off places. Despite storming their way to the Eastern Conference crown last season, the Revs have won just a pair of their last six matchups across all formats. Crashing out of the US Open Cup defeat after a nervy 1-0 loss at the hands of New York City, New England have also shown some extended issues on the road. Aside from a lively victory away at Cincinnati last month, that is the only away win that Arena’s squad have collected so far this season. Two sides really seeking some stability on Sunday night, we’re backing under 3.5 goals here.
Bet: Under 3.5 goals at Sporting Kansas City vs New England Revolution 4/11 for Sunday’s MLS contest @ 888sport
