Bitesize Prediction: Sporting Lisbon vs Marseille – 12/10/22

Competition: Champions League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 8/11 @ 888sport

Looking to lay down another Champions League marker on Wednesday night, Marseille will make the trip to Sporting Lisbon.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a nightmare display away in France last week as they were hit with a 4-1 drumming away at Marseille, Sporting Lisbon were certainly glad to make a return to domestic duties over the weekend. Eventually picking up a 2-1 victory away at Santa Clara, the Portuguese giants also find themselves sat in pole position to book a knockout stage ticket in this year’s Champions League. Opening their Group D campaign with back-to-back 2-0 and 3-0 victories against Eintracht Frankfurt and Premier League outfit Tottenham, Rúben Amorim’s side have also continued to shine on home soil since opening the 2022/23 campaign. On a run highlighted by a 4-0 romp against Portimonense on September 10th, Sporting Lisbon have won each of their last three contests at the Estádio José Alvalade by an aggregate score of 9-1.

As for the visitors, putting in a rampant display at the Stade Vélodrome last week as they stormed their way to a 4-1 victory, Marseille also have their sights set on clinching a shock knockout stage spot. However, slumping back to losing ways over the weekend as they were hit with a sluggish 2-1 loss at home against AC Ajaccio, the Ligue 1 outfit have continued to show some extended issues at the back. Opening up their Group D campaign with back-to-back defeats against Spurs and Frankfurt, it should be noted that Igor Tudor’s men have managed to record just a single clean sheet from any of their last seven matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to September 3rd. In a contest that could prove to be another lively affair on Wednesday night, we’re backing both teams to find the net here.

Bet: Both teams to score at Sporting Lisbon vs Marseille 8/11 for Wednesday’s Champions League showdown @ 888sport
