Hoping to collect back-to-back Ligue 1 victories on Saturday night, Strasbourg will travel to relegation scrappers St. Etienne.

Starting with the hosts, while St. Etienne might have secured a Ligue 1 return for this season, the Greens have a real battle on their hands to keep hold of their top-flight status. Although Olivier Dall’Oglio’s men might have entered October’s international break with a much-needed 3-1 victory against Auxerre, Les Verts open this weekend’s fixtures sat in the relegation zone and pencilled in as a leading bottom-three contender. Putting in another worrying performance last weekend as they fell to a pulsating 4-2 loss at the hands of Angers, the former Brest boss will have a major headache over his side’s glaring defensive struggles. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny on September 20th as they were blown away by an infamous 8-0 drumming against Nice, St. Etienne have registered just a sole clean sheet from any of their first nine Ligue 1 appearances so far this season. It should also be noted, Saturday’s hosts have shipped 24 goals in those nine top-flight showdowns.

As for the visitors, making an immediate return to winning ways last weekend as they secured a 3-1 romp at home against Nantes, Strasbourg have continued to receive plenty of praise since opening up the new campaign. Now under the guidance of former Hull City boss Liam Rosenior, some have even tipped Le Racing as a potential European dark horse this season. Although the Alsace-based outfit might have marked their return from October’s international break with an action-packed 4-2 defeat against defending champions PSG, that is the only loss that Strasbourg have suffered from any of their previous six Ligue 1 appearances. While Saturday’s guests might have recorded just a sole clean sheet so far this season, they have impressed with their clinical performances in the final third. Including a 3-1 victory against Rennes back on August 25th, it should be noted that Rosenior’s camp have notched 17 top-flight strikes and they could be smelling another potential opportunity this weekend.

Bet: Goal to be scored in both halves at St. Etienne vs Strasbourg 7/10 for Saturday’s Ligue 1 battle @ 1xBet
