Competition: Bundesliga 2

Market: St. Pauli win

Odds: 1/1 @ 888sport

In the midst of what has become a stellar run of form, St. Pauli will welcome Furth to the Millerntor-Stadion on Saturday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, while St. Pauli might need a minor miracle if they’re to book a Bundesliga return this year, they are enjoying what has been a stellar purple patch. Last seen putting in another stellar display as they claimed a 2-1 victory away at top-three contenders Paderborn, Fabian Hurzeler’s men have come skyrocketing up the second-tier table. Despite enduring an extended rut when heading into the World Cup’s winter break, the Hamburg-based outfit have come roaring back in some style. With the mood around the Millerntor-Stadion at a red-hot high, St. Pauli have now won each of their last six straight Bundesliga 2 appearances since returning to action. It should also be noted, Hurzeler’s side have remarkably not suffered a single defeat in front of their own supporters so far this season.

As for the visitors, although Furth might have come from behind as they snatched a 1-1 draw at home against Hannover last weekend, Alexander Zorniger’s men have struggled with their consistency of late. While the Cloverleaves might have snatched a much-needed 2-1 victory against Dusseldorf on February 18th, that is the only win that the Bavaria-based outfit have collected from their last four attempts. With their recent issues highlighted by a 3-1 loss away at Kaiserslautern, it should also be noted that Furth have continued to show a string of issues on the road. In fact, since returning from the World Cup’s winter break, Saturday’s guests have lost each of their three Bundesliga 2 away fixtures by an aggregate score of 7-3. Suffering a 2-1 loss on their last trip to the Millerntor-Stadion, we are backing a similar home victory here.

Bet: St. Pauli 1/1 to beat Furth in Saturday’s Bundesliga 2 battle @ 888sport
