Competition: League One
Market: Birmingham draw no bet
Odds: 4/9 @ Pribet
Already securing an immediate Championship return, Birmingham will travel to the Lamex Stadium when they meet Stevenage on Thursday night.
Starting with the hosts, snatching a 1-0 victory away at Bristol Rovers earlier in the week, Stevenage will be looking to find some much-welcomed stability over the final few weeks. However, almost sat in League One limbo, Alex Revell’s men have won just a pair of their previous nine appearances – a run that stems back to March 4th. Getting April underway with a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Stockport, the Hertfordshire-based outfit have also gained a reputation for their extended struggles on home soil. Last seen at the Lamex Stadium falling to a routine 3-1 defeat against Blackpool, Stevenage have mustered just a sole win from their last seven showdowns in front of their own supporters. Pencilled in as a real underdog contender here, Revell’s side should be concerned by their struggles against Birmingham this season. Including a 2-1 loss when they travelled to St. Andrew’s for their reverse League One battle last month, they also watched their EFL Trophy adventure come to an end on February 4th as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat in Hertfordshire.
As for the visitors, already breezing their way to an immediate Championship return, Birmingham have only continued on a sensational League One romp this season. Despite suffering EFL Trophy heartbreak on April 13th as they fell to a shock 2-0 loss against Peterborough at Wembley, Chris Davies’ side have registered 13 points from their previous five third-tier showdowns. Signing off March with a 4-1 romp against Shrewsbury, the Blues have also lost just one of their previous 28 consecutive League One appearances – a purple patch that stems all the way back to November 23rd. Last seen on Monday afternoon collecting a 2-1 win away at Burton, Birmingham are simply looking to keep up their momentum here. In fact, Thursday’s guests have won their last three League One matchups away from St. Andrew’s by a 2-1 scoreline. Clinching that 1-0 victory when they traveled to Hertfordshire back on February 4th, we are backing an away draw no bet in midweek.
