Competition: League One

Market: Stevenage win

Odds: 7/10 @ BetUS

Looking to find a route into the top-half of the League One table, Stevenage will welcome Burton to the Lamex Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, forced to settle for consecutive 0-0 stalemates against Northampton and Lincoln since opening the New Year, Stevenage will certainly be seeking a welcome boost here. Despite their recent issues in the final third, Alex Revell’s men should be smelling a golden opportunity when they return to the Lamex Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Signing off 2024 with what was a stellar 3-0 romp against Bristol Rovers, the Hertfordshire-based outfit are unbeaten in all of their previous eight appearances across all competitions. With that run stemming back to November 30th, Revell will also be excited by his side’s continued success at the back. Along with recording three straight League One clean sheets, Stevenage have also come away unscathed in four of their last five outings. Looking to find a route into the top-half of the table this weekend, it should also be highlighted that the Boro have won three of their previous four League One battles at the Lamex Stadium.

As for the visitors, while Burton might have dragged themselves over the finishing line last season as they clung to their League One status, the Brewers are seeking a major miracle this time around. Opening Saturday’s showdown sat rock-bottom of the table and pencilled in as a landslide relegation candidate, the Staffordshire-based outfit already sit 11 points of safety. Putting just 14 points on the board from their 24 League One appearances so far this season, Gary Bowyer has an almighty job on his hands. Last seen falling to a 1-0 defeat at home against Northampton, Burton have failed to win any of their previous eight matchups across all competitions. Crashing out of the EFL Trophy on December 10th following a 4-0 drumming against Stevenage, the former Blackpool boss will be bracing himself for another stern examination on Saturday afternoon. It should also be noted, the Brewers have recorded just a sole League One win on their travels over the past nine months.

Bet: Stevenage 7/10 to beat Burton in Saturday’s League One battle @ BetUS
