Competition: FA Cup
Market: Over 1.5 goals
Odds: 2/5 @ 888sport
Two sides who will be desperate to extend on their FA Cup adventure on Wednesday night, Stockport will welcome Charlton to Edgeley Park.
Starting with the hosts, putting in a thumping display over the weekend as they breezed their way to a stellar 5-0 romp away at Hartlepool, Stockport should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Snatching a last-gasp 2-2 draw when they made the trip to the Valley on November 26th, Dave Challinor’s men should be smelling the chance to pick up an FA Cup scalp on Wednesday night. Although the Hatters might have suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Leyton Orient last month, Stockport have proven that was just a minor blip. On a run that is highlighted by a 4-0 victory against Swindon last month, the midweek hosts have lost just one of their previous 10 contests across all formats. It should also be noted, still boosted by their 5-0 win against Hartlepool a few days ago, Challinor’s side have racked up 14 strikes in just their last five appearances.
As for the visitors, while Charlton might have opened the 2022/23 campaign with their sights set on mounting a play-off charge, the Addicks are in the midst of an extended rut. Freefalling their way down the League One table and with some in their camp now looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Ben Garner’s side have failed to win any of their last five matchups across all competitions. Putting in a flat display over the weekend as they suffered a shock 1-0 loss at home against Cheltenham, the former Premier League outfit have continued to show some extended issues at the back. Including a 3-2 defeat away at Plymouth on November 22nd, Charlton have failed to record a single clean sheet since the end of October. With the two sides playing out an action-packed 2-2 draw in the capital a fortnight ago, we’re backing what could be another enjoyable affair.
Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Stockport County vs Charlton Athletic 2/5 for Wednesday’s FA Cup replay @ 888sport
