Competition: National League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 4/7 @ 1xBet

Hoping to shore up their spot in the play-off chase on Wednesday night, Gateshead will travel to south London when they meet Sutton.

Starting with the hosts, while Sutton might have opened the new campaign with their sights set on securing an immediate League Two return, Steve Morison’s men have shown some extended inconsistencies. Putting in another worrying performance last weekend as they fell to a 3-1 loss at home against Oldham, the one-time Millwall striker has seen his side suffer consecutive National League defeats for the first time since the start of September. Opening October with an action-packed 4-3 loss away at Hartlepool, the Us are desperately seeking some much-needed defensive steel. Despite booking a full FA Cup ticket earlier in the month as they clinched a 3-1 win against Chertsey, Sutton have registered just a sole clean sheet from any of their previous 12 appearances across all competitions. It should also be highlighted, the Londoners have conceded at least a pair of goals in four of their last five showdowns at Gander Green Lane.

As for the visitors, while Gateshead might still be sat in the driving seat to claim another play-off ticket this season, the Tynesiders are seeking some recent stability. Watching their FA Cup qualifying adventure come to a shock end earlier in the month as they fell to a 3-1 loss at home against Hednesford, Carl Magnay’s side have failed to win any of their previous four appearances across all competitions. Suffering a real second-half collapse away at Altrincham last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 2-2 stalemate, Wednesday’s guests have also shown their own defensive issues. Including a 2-1 defeat against Tamworth on October 8th, Gateshead have shipped eight goals on their four-match winless rut. It should also be highlighted, Magnay’s side have failed to register a single clean sheet from any of their previous seven straight battles on the road – a run that stems all the way back to August 17th.

Bet: Both teams to score at Sutton vs Gateshead 4/7 for Wednesday’s National League matchup @ 1xBet
