Competition: League Two

Market: Swindon win

Odds: 4/5 @ BetUS

Hoping to skyrocket their way into the play-off places this weekend, Swindon will welcome Sutton to the County Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Swindon might have felt like they missed out on a potential chance last weekend as they eventually had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate away at Doncaster, the Robins have still enjoyed a bright start to the 2023/24 campaign. With their sights firmly set on mounting another play-off charge this time around, Michael Flynn’s men should be smelling the chance to claim an immediate boost here. Not suffering a single defeat from any of their opening five League Two appearances, the former Newport boss will be excited to make a return to the City Ground this weekend. Last seen in front of their own supporters putting in a season-best display as they breezed their way to a 6-0 romp against Crawley on August 26th, Swindon have also notched eight strikes in just their opening two fourth-tier showdowns in Wiltshire. Likewise, picking up an action-packed 3-2 win when they welcomed Saturday’s guests to town last season, Swindon will be seeking a repeat performance here.

As for the visitors, while Sutton might have signed off August with a much-needed 1-0 victory against Wycombe while on EFL Cup duties, Matt Gray’s men came crashing back down to earth last time out. Putting in a downbeat display as they were hit with a 1-0 loss at home against Forest Green, the Yellows find themselves sat in the drop zone after mustering just three points from their opening six League Two appearances. With some around south London fearing that their squad could be at the heart of a relegation scrap this season, Sutton are in the midst of what has become a nightmare rut. Remarkably losing each of their last five straight fourth-tier matchups, Gray’s side have certainly shown a string of issues at both ends of the pitch. In fact, along with mustering just a single strike in their previous four consecutive League Two appearances, they have shipped eight strikes in return during their four-game spell.
