Competition: NPL NSW

Market: Sydney Olympic win

Odds: 11/10 @ BetUS

Two sides who are only separated in the NPL NSW standings by their goal difference, Sydney Olympic will welcome Sydney United to the Belmore Sports Ground on Wednesday morning.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a gritty performance last time out as they landed a 1-0 victory away at Marconi, the Blues will simply be looking for a repeat performance here. Almost finding themselves sat in NPL NSW limbo this season, Labinot Haliti’s men should be confident of signing off the 2023 campaign with a final statement here. With their recent improvements highlighted by a thumping 5-1 victory against Central Coast’s U21s last month, Olympic have suffered just a single defeat from any of their last seven NPL NSW appearances – a run that stems back to July 1st. Certainly gaining a reputation for their action-packed affair at the Belmore Sports Ground, Haliti’s side should also be excited by an eye-catching record against Wednesday’s guests. Including a 1-0 victory earlier in the season, the Blues have collected seven points from their last three meetings.

As for the visitors, making an immediate return to losing ways over the weekend as they slumped to a toothless 2-0 defeat at home against St. George City, Sydney United are certainly limping their way over the finish line. Struggling to find any kind of stability over the last couple of months, the Reds have really gained a reputation for their glaring struggles at the back. Winning just a quartet of their last 13 NPL NSW appearances – a run that stems back to June 4th, Miro Vlastelica will also have a major headache over his side’s issues on the road. It should be highlighted, United have lost four of their last five showdowns on their travels. Hit with that 1-0 defeat when they welcomed their local rivals to the Sydney United Sports Centre back on May 14th, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Sydney Olympic 11/10 to beat Sydney United in Wednesday’s NPL NSW matchup @ BetUS
