Looking to move within touching distance of top spot in the National League table, Gateshead will travel to Tamworth on Tuesday night.

As for the visitors, while Gateshead might have suffered major play-off heartbreak last season, the Tynesiders certainly haven’t shown any signs of a hangover. Flying out of the traps since opening up the new campaign and once again pencilled in as a leading top-six contender, the midweek guests find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Knowing that three points on Tuesday night would move them within striking distance of top spot, they have suffered just a single defeat from any of their first 13 appearances across all competitions. Signing off September with a stellar 3-1 romp away at Southend, Gateshead have won all of their previous four showdowns by an aggregate score of 7-1. Looking to lay down another marker here, Gateshead have also continued to impress with their rugged performances at the back.
