Competition: Serie A

Market: Torino win

Odds: 3/4 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their recent Serie A flurry this weekend, Torino will welcome Udinese to Turin on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Torino might be facing a real uphill battle in their bid to punch a famous European finish this season, the Bulls have continued to receive a string of plaudits since opening up the 2023/24 campaign. Last seen putting in another rugged performance as they pinched a 1-0 victory at home against Empoli, Ivan Juric’s men have lost just one of their previous seven Serie A showdowns. With that extended purple patch stemming all the way back to October 21st, the former Genoa boss will be calling on his squad to make another statement here. Opening December with a famous performance in Turin as they cruised their way to a 3-0 romp against Italian giants Atalanta, Torino will be excited by their continued success in front of their own supporters. In fact, Juric’s side have won all of their last three domestic showdowns at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino by an aggregate score of 6-1.

As for the visitors, while Udinese might have snatched a 2-2 stalemate against Sassuolo last weekend, that result doesn’t cover what has been a nightmare Serie A rut. Along with failing to muster a single win from their previous five top-flight appearances, Gabriele Cioffi’s side have recorded just a single win from their first 16 top-flight showdowns. At the heart of a relegation scrap and opening this weekend’s fixtures holding just a one-point buffer from slipping into the drop zone, the Little Zebras have also continued to show some glaring defensive issues. Facing a tough challenge this weekend, Udinese should also be worried by a nightmare record against Saturday’s hosts. Including a 1-0 loss when they last met Torino back on February 5th, Cioffi’s men have lost four of their previous five meetings. Shipping seven strikes in their back-to-back defeats away from the Stadio Friuli, we are backing a home victory in Turin.
