Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Shamrock Rovers win to nil

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

Two sides who are already battling it out at opposite ends of the Premier Division table, a high-flying Shamrock Rovers will travel to UC Dublin on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while UC Dublin might have just about clung to their Premier Division status last season, it is no secret that Andrew Myler’s men are tipped as a leading relegation contender this time around. Last seen putting in another toothless display as they slumped to a 1-0 loss away at Shelbourne, the Students have collected just a single point from any of their last four top-flight appearances. Opening May with a deserved 2-0 defeat at home against Dundalk, UC Dublin have also mustered just one of their first 14 Premier Division outings so far this year. Likewise, putting just six points on the board, there is no doubt that Myler’s side will face a monumental challenge at the UCD Bowl on Friday night. Suffering a routine 3-0 drumming when they last met the Irish heavyweights on April 10th, it should also be noted that the Blues have lost each of their last 14 straight meetings against the title chasers.

As for the visitors, storming their way to yet another Premier Division crown, Shamrock have once again come flying out of the traps. Last seen putting in another dominant display as they claimed a 2-0 victory at home against Bohemians, Stephen Bradley’s side are tipped as a landslide pick to defend their domestic title. Winning each of their last four straight top-flight outings by an aggregate score of 8-1, the Rovers should be smelling another golden chance when they travel to Dublin here. It should also be highlighted, the Irish giants have collected 22 points from their last eight Premier Division contests – a run that stems all the way back to March 17th. Continuing to shine with their defensive displays, Bradley’s high-flying squad have shipped just a single goal in over 400 minutes of action. Storming their way to that 3-0 romp when they welcomed Friday’s guests to town on April 10th, it is hard to see anything other than a similar outcome here.

Bet: Shamrock Rovers 19/20 to beat UC Dublin to nil in Friday’s Irish Premier Division matchup @ 888sport
