Competition: Serie B

Market: Venezia draw no bet

Odds: 8/11 @ BetUS

In what is a real battle at the top of the Serie B table, Venezia will welcome Cremonese to the Pier Luigi Penzo on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Venezia might have eventually fallen short in their bid to punch a play-off ticket last season, the Winged Lions have come roaring back this time around. Gaining a string of plaudits from across Italy’s second-tier, Paolo Vanoli still have their sights set on securing an automatic top-flight return. Opening up Friday’s season-defining showdown sat just three points adrift of breaking into the top-two, the Venice-based outfit find the mood in their camp at a real high. Last seen mounting a second-half comeback away at Lecco as they secured a 2-1 victory, the former Chelsea coach has seen his squad suffer just a single defeat from any of their previous six Serie B appearances. With their recent flurry highlighted by a routine 2-0 win against Brescia on April 14th, Friday’s hosts have also gained a reputation for their extended success on home soil. Including a 3-1 romp against Bari prior to March’s international break, Venezia have have collected nine points from their last four appearances at the Pier Luigi Penzo.

As for the visitors, while Cremonese might still find themselves battling it out in the chase to secure an immediate Serie A return, Giovanni Stroppa’s side are enduring a recent rut. Last seen putting in a toothless performance away at fellow play-off contenders Catanzaro, the Lombardy-based outfit have collected just a single victory from any of their previous five appearances. Heading into March’s international break with a woeful 3-0 drumming at the hands of Sudtirol, the former Monza boss is desperate for some much-needed stability. Watching their dreams of securing a top-two finish take a major dent over the past six weeks, Cremonese should also be concerned by their most recent trip to the Pier Luigi Penzo. Hit with a routine 3-1 loss when they last travelled to Venice back in February 2021, Stroppa’s side should face another stern challenge here. Given what has been a recent gulf in class, we are expecting a home draw no bet on Friday night.

Bet: Venezia draw no bet against Cremonese 8/11 for Friday’s Serie B battle @ BetUS
