Two sides who are seeking a much-welcomed Serie A boost this weekend, Verona will welcome Venezia to town on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Verona might have opened up the new campaign with a stunning performance as they secured a 3-0 romp against Italian giants Napoli, the Gialloblu have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Marking their return from September’s international break with a 2-1 defeat away at Lazio, Paolo Zanetti’s men have come under some recent scrutiny. Last seen falling to an action-packed 3-2 loss at the hands of Serie A returners Como, the Veneto-based outfit have lost each of their previous three top-flight appearances. With their recent issues highlighted by another lively 3-2 defeat at home against Torino on September 20th, Friday’s hosts have shown some glaring issues in the final third. In fact, including a routine 3-0 drumming against Juventus last month, Verona have shipped 11 goals in just their previous five Serie A appearances. It should also be noted, continuing on from last season, Zanetti’s side have recorded just a pair of clean sheets in front of their own supporters since the start of March.

As for the visitors, while Venezia might have secured a famous Serie A return for this season, the Winged Lions have a real battle on their hands in the race to keep hold of their top-flight status. Suffering a dramatic second-half collapse away at Roma last weekend as they eventually fell to a 2-1 loss at the Stadio Olimpico, Eusebio Di Francesco already finds his downbeat squad battling it out in the relegation zone. Marking their return from September’s international break with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of AC Milan, Friday’s guests have collected just a single victory from any of their first six top-flight appearances. Getting proceedings underway with a routine 3-1 loss away at Lazio on August 18th, Venezia have also shown their own respective defensive issues. It should also be highlighted, Di Francesco’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat when they last travelled to Verona back in February 2022.

Bet: Goal to be scored in both halves at Verona vs Venezia 10/11 for Friday’s Serie A showdown @ Pribet
