Bitesize Prediction: Watford vs Norwich City – 21/01/22

Competition: Premier League

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 4/11 @ 888sport

In what is a real relegation six-pointer this weekend, Watford will welcome Norwich to Vicarage Road on Friday night in what could be a nervy affair.

Starting with the hosts, managing to snatch a last-gasp point away at fellow relegation scrappers Newcastle last weekend, there is no doubt that Watford will be desperate to build off of that 1-1. However, while the Hornets still find themselves sat outside of the bottom-three, the pressure remains firmly on Claudio Ranieri’s shoulders at Vicarage Road. Struggling to find much stability since bringing in the one-time Leicester boss, the Londoners are still in the midst of a hugely worrying eight-match winless run. Losing seven of those contests across all formats and crashing out of the FA Cup thanks to a 4-1 defeat against the Foxes, Watford have to try and find some resolve at the back. While attacking talisman Emmanuel Dennis might be continuing to impress, it should be noted that Friday’s hosts are without a clean sheet since the end of August.

As for the visitors, managing to pick up what could turn out to be a crucial victory on home soil last weekend, some in Norwich’s camp will be starting to believe that their side can somehow avoid the drop. Last seen at Carrow Road claiming a 2-1 win against fellow strugglers Everton, Dean Smith knows that victory on Friday would skyrocket his side out of the bottom-three. However, with just a single Premier League victory to their name since Smith’s debut back in November, the Yellows have also shown some extended issues on the road. Including a 3-0 defeat against Crystal Palace when signing off 2021, we should be set for a nervy affair at Vicarage Road this weekend. It should be noted, with 28 of the 30 meetings between Watford and Norwich finishing with over 1.5 goals, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Over 1.5 goals at Watford vs Norwich City 4/11 for Friday’s Premier League battle @ 888sport
