Competition: Bundesliga

Market: Werder Bremen win

Odds: 4/6 @ 888sport

Looking to claim back-to-back Bundesliga victories on Friday night, Werder Bremen will welcome Augsburg to the Weserstadion.

Starting with the hosts, while Werder Bremen might have been frustrated by an action-packed 4-3 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt last month, the River Islanders managed to prove that was just a minor blip. Last seen picking up a deserved 2-0 victory away at Bochum, Ole Werner’s men should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Mounting that iconic last-gasp comeback away at German giants Borussia Dortmund on August 20th as they snatched a famous 3-2 win, the former Holstein Kiel boss has seen his side lose just one of their opening five Bundesliga outings. Looking to claim back-to-back top-flight victories on Friday night, it is worth keeping an eye out for attacking talisman, Niclas Fullkrug. Bagging both goals against Bochum last weekend, the 29-year-old has already notched five strikes in as many appearances.

As for the visitors, while Werder Bremen might been enjoying a largely impressive start to the 2022/23 campaign, the same cannot be said for a struggling Augsburg. Putting in another hugely worrying display last weekend as they were hit with a 2-0 loss at home against Hertha Berlin, the Bavaria-based outfit are already tipped as one of the leading relegation contenders. In fact, along with losing each of their last three Bundesliga outings on the spin by an aggregate score of 5-1, the Reds have collected just three points from their opening five top-flight showdowns. Opening the 2022/23 campaign with a 4-0 drumming against Freiburg at the WWK Arena, Augsburg should be in for another tough test here. Suffering a 2-0 defeat in their last trip to the Weserstadion, we’re backing a similar home victory here.

Bet: Werder Bremen 4/6 to beat Augsburg in Friday’s Bundesliga battle @ 888sport
