Bitesize Prediction: West Brom vs Coventry – 03/02/23

Competition: Championship

Market: West Brom win

Odds: 4/5 @ 888sport

Hoping to find a Championship boost on Friday night, West Brom will welcome Midlands rivals Coventry to the Hawthorns.

Starting with the hosts, crashing out of the FA Cup last weekend following a shock 3-0 drumming at the hands of Championship rivals Bristol City, the Baggies are seeking a much-needed response on Friday night. However, while Carlos Corberan’s men might have suffered back-to-back domestic defeats, the former Huddersfield boss will be glad to make a return to the Hawthorns here. Sat just a single point adrift of finding a route into the play-off spots and with their sights now set on clinching a Premier League return in 2023, West Brom have gained a fearsome reputation for their success on home soil. Last seen in front of their own supporters picking up a 4-0 romp against National League outfit Chesterfield, Corberan’s side have won each of their previous six straight showdowns at the Hawthorns by an aggregate score of 13-0.

As for the visitors, managing to make a much-needed return to winning ways last weekend thanks to a 2-0 victory at home against Huddersfield, Coventry will be desperate to prove that was more than just a minor blip. However, crashing out of the FA Cup on January 7th thanks to a remarkable 4-3 loss at home against National League high-flyers Wrexham, the Sky Blues have recorded just a single win from their last seven matchups across all formats. With that run stemming all the way back to December 21st, Mark Robins’ men have also continued on a real downbeat run on their travels. Last seen on the road getting hit with a 1-0 loss at the hands of Burnley, it should be noted that Coventry have lost each of their previous three straight away fixtures. Facing a tough test on Friday night, a home victory can be found at appealing odds.

Bet: West Brom 4/5 to beat Coventry in Friday’s Championship showdown @ 888sport
