Competition: Premier League
Market: Both teams to score
Odds: 3/4 @ 888sport
Two sides who find themselves firmly battling it out at opposite ends of the Premier League table, West Ham will welcome Newcastle to the London Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.
Starting with the hosts, while West Ham might have snatched a last-gasp point on the road last weekend, the Hammers would have been disappointed to have settled for a 2-2 draw away at Leicester. However, still with their sights firmly set on securing a maiden Champions League spot this season, David Moyes’ men have failed to find top gear with much fluidity since opening 2022. With just a single Premier League victory to their name from their previous four attempts, the one-time Manchester United will be calling on the red-hot Jarrod Bowen to spearhead their charge at the London Stadium. Once again getting on the scoresheet away at the King Power last weekend and heavily linked with an England call-up, the 25-year-old has now bagged seven goals in as many appearances across all formats.
As for the visitors, managing to pick up what could turn out to be a crucial victory at St. James’ Park last weekend, Newcastle appear to have breathed life back into their campaign. Landing a 1-0 win at home against Aston Villa, Eddie’s Howe’s men have found a route out of the relegation zone and are enjoying a much-needed purple patch. Winning each of their last three Premier League outings on the spin, the one-time Bournemouth boss will be desperate for his side to build off of their recent momentum in east London. However, with January arrival Kieran Trippier having to limp off against Villa last weekend, Newcastle should face a stern test here. It should be highlighted, with four of the last five meetings between Saturday’s opponents finishing with both teams finding the net, we’re backing a similar outcome here.
