Competition: National League
Market: Woking draw no bet
Odds: 4/5 @ BetUS
Desperate to claim a much-needed National League boost on Wednesday night, Solihull Moors will travel to the Kingfield Stadium when they meet Woking.
Starting with the hosts, while Woking might have opened the 2024/25 campaign in the midst of a public wobble, the Cardinals have turned a corner over recent times. Despite suffering late heartbreak at home against Tamworth last weekend as they had to settle for a 1-1 stalemate at the Kingfield Stadium, Neal Ardley’s men have skyrocketed themselves away from a relegation scrap. Opening up the midweek fixtures holding a six-point buffer over the drop zone, the Surrey-based outfit should find the mood in their camp at a high. Extending on their FA Trophy adventure earlier in the month as they cruised their way to a 3-0 victory away at Gainsborough, the ex-Solihull Moors boss will be looking to get one over on his former employers here. Getting the New Year underway with a thumping 3-1 win against Maidenhead, Woking have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous 12 appearances across all competitions. It should also be noted, Wednesday’s hosts have not been hit with a single National League defeat in front of their own supporters since the end of November.
As for the visitors, while Solihull Moors might have signed off 2024 enjoying a real purple patch, Matthew Taylor’s side have come crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Putting in another nightmare display last weekend as they slumped to a routine 3-1 loss away at Barnet, the former Shrewsbury boss has seen his squad come tumbling down the National League table. Watching their play-off dreams take a major dent since opening the New Year, Wednesday’s guests have continued to show some glaring issues. Including a 2-0 loss at the hands of Halifax on January 25th, Taylor’s side have collected just a single point from any of their previous six National League appearances. Notching just a pair of fifth-tier goals since opening 2025, the Moors have also failed to find any kind of stability away from Damson Park. Aside from a 1-0 victory against Boston United on Boxing Day, that is the only National League win that Solihull have collected on their travels since the middle of November.
