Competition: Egypt Cup

Market: Zamalek win

Odds: 4/5 @ 1xBet

Two sides who are looking to punch their Egypt Cup quarter-final ticket on Friday night, Zamalek will welcome Pharco to the Cairo International Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, last seen heading into the international break with an eye-catching 2-1 win at home against Al Ittihad on June 5th, Zamalek should be relishing their return on Friday night. Although Juan Carlos Osorio’s side might have failed to defend their domestic crown this season, they have certainly turned a real corner over the past couple of months. Along with signing off May with a routine 2-0 victory at home against El Gaish, the Royal Club have lost just one of their previous 10 domestic appearances across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to April 4th. Likewise, extending on their Egypt Cup adventure last month as they claimed an action-packed 3-2 win against Proxy, Osorio’s squad have continued to gain a reputation for their success on home soil. In fact, along with winning each of their last five straight showdowns at the Cairo International Stadium, it should also be noted that Zamalek have not suffered a single loss in front of their own supporters since the end of March.

As for the visitors, watching their extended six-match unbeaten run come to an abrupt end last time out, Pharco have shown some recent issues over the past month. Last seen heading into the international break with a 1-0 loss at home against Pyramids, Tarek El Ashry’s men have picked up just a single win from their previous four appearances against top-flight opposition. Opening June with a toothless 0-0 stalemate away at Ceramica Cleopatra, the former Al-Hilal boss will have a growing headache over his side’s extended issues on the road. In fact, on a run that stems all the way back to January 28th, Pharco have remarkably failed to muster a single win away from the El Geish Stadium in their last eight straight attempts. Facing what is a stern challenge on Friday night, Ashry’s men have also failed to find the net in back-to-back outings for the first time since the end of March. Given the recent gulf in class, we are expecting a home victory this weekend.
