Everton played a goalless draw against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup third round on Thursday at Selhurst Park.

Though there were no goals, the match has drawn plenty of attention due to Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin being sent off for an apparently excessive tackle on Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne.

It was a bizarre decision, leading to fresh criticism of the use of VAR in the English game, which Everton have expectedly appealed against.
