Blackburn may add Australian midfielder

Setanta Sports reports that Blackburn Rovers are believed to be closing in on a £4 million deal to sign Torino midfielder Vince Grella. Fulham had also displayed an interest in the player but it appear that Ewood Park will be his final destination.

Grella is in London representing his native Australia in a friendly against South Africa at Loftus Road and it is anticipated that he will meet Rover boss Paul Ince in the English capital on Tuesday.

Rovers, who began the season well with 3-2 victory over Everton, would welcome the arrival of Grella in light of the departure of David Bentley in the pre-season to Tottenham.

A fee was reportedly agreed between the two clubs on Monday to permit Rovers to discuss personal terms with the 28-year old.
