Blackburn midfielder Brett Emerton has signed a new four-year contract, the Premier League club confirmed on Tuesday.
The deal will keep the 29-year-old Australian, who joined Rovers from Dutch side Feyenoord in 2003, at Ewood Park until 2012.
“This is great news for the club,” chairman John Williams told the club's website.
“Brett has been an excellent servant over the last five years and we are delighted to have agreed a deal which keeps him here for another four years.
“He's a very willing member of the squad and a real club man.”
