Blackburn Rovers 3/4 to beat Wigan Athletic in Monday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Blackburn Rovers win

Odds: 3/4 @ Bet 365

Hoping to open Christmas Day in the play-offs, a high-flying Blackburn will welcome Wigan to Ewood Park on Monday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another dominant display to pick up a 2-0 win away at Bristol City last week, Blackburn’s play-off charge has continued to shock many across the Championship. Winning five of their last six appearances and yet to taste defeat since the start of November, Tony Mowbray’s men know that another victory over their bitter rivals would see them secure a spot in the top-six on Christmas day. Led by leading marksman Bradley Dack who has continued to enjoy a stellar run of form, the Rovers have won each of their last four matches at Ewood Park, a run that has seen them pick up victories over the likes of Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday.

As for the visitors, while Wigan may have managed to snatch back-to-back draws against West Brom and Huddersfield, Paul Cook’s side are still seen to be a huge contender for the drop this season. Making Monday’s trip to Ewood Park sat bottom of the table, the Latics have failed to win any of their previous 10 matches on the bounce, a run that stems back to the 20th of October. A huge part of Wigan’s issues this year has come down to some rather worrying performances away from the DW Stadium. Remarkably, Cook’s men are yet to record a single victory on the road since opening the 2019/2020 campaign.
