Former Portugal international Nuno Gomes has arrived in England for a medical with Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
The former Benfica, Boavista and Fiorentina striker has arrived in England for a medical with the freshly-relegated Championship outfit following his release from Braga.
The forward is available on a free transfer after leaving Braga, and looks set to sign a two-year deal with Steve Kean’s side, who are actively seeking striking reinforcements.
Gomes, who turns 36 this week, has 156 goals to his name during his club career.
Blackburn, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, have already secured the signings of Danny Murphy and Leon Best, as they attempt to return to the English top flight at the first time of asking.
