Scott Carson spent the majority of his Liverpool career on loan at other clubs. Now, when it has become clear that Rafa Benitez does not include him in the club’s long-term plans, the young English goalkeeper looks set to continue his career elsewhere.
Premier League new boys Stoke and West Bromwich were rumoured to be leading the chase for Carson, but now it seems that a more attractive option has opened up for the player. According to The Daily Mail, Blackburn manager Paul Ince has eyed £4 million Carson as the ideal replacement for outgoing Brad Fridel.
USA goalkeeper Fridel is close to agreeing a move to Aston Villa, according to the same report. Aston Villa had used Scott Carson as their first choice goalkeeper for the last two seasons, but the player returned to Liverpool this summer after Martin O’Neill refused to make the goalkeepers move permanent.
