Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc is not targeting any additions to his squad during the current transfer window.
The French champions are three points clear at the top of Ligue 1, having lost just once in the league this season, and are safely into the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
Given their impressive form during the first half of the season, Blanc is not eyeing any new signings, amid reported interest in the likes of Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye, Paul Pogba of Juventus and Chelsea attacker Eden Hazard.
“If I finish the season with the group I have I’ll be happy,” he said on Friday.
“I am very quiet compared to the transfer window (overall, but) if there is an area where we should recruit, it would be the middle for me.
“To me if the group remains as it is, (this) is fine. If we add a midfielder that’s even better.”
Blanc added that he was not keen to sign players in the January transfer window because of a lack of quality being available.
He also explained he did not want to see midfielder Blaise Matuidi leave the club, ahead of the expiration of his contract in June.
“Great players who move during the winter transfer window, there are few,” he continued.
“You see, there will be not so much movement during this transfer window.
“What I can say, as a coach, is that I want Blaise Matuidi to continue at Paris Saint-Germain.”
