Catalan giants Barcelona are hot on the trail of Paraguayan starlet Blas Riveros, A Bola has suggested.
The 18-year-old full-back has shown a great deal of promise since coming through the youth ranks at Olimpia, and he is now linked with a big club move.
Portuguese Primeira Liga outfit Benfica have reportedly reached an agreement to sign the talented defender in the summer transfer window, with only minor details to be sorted.
According to A Bola, the Eagles will pay €1.8 million for 75 percent of the player’s economic rights, but the latest reports suggest that Barcelona will attempt to hijack the deal.
The Catalans believes there is still time for them to persuade Olimpia not to sell Riveros to Benfica, although the time is clearly running out.
Blas Riveros is a Paraguay Under-17 international and he has so far made nine league appearances for Olimpia.
