West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti is stalling on a move to Celtic, with West Bromwich Albion showing interest in him, according to Read West Brom. The 23-year-old was reportedly set to travel to Glasgow for a medical, but West Brom – who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – have told him not to make the move now.
West Brom are keen on securing the services of the youngster this summer and are in talks with West Ham. The Hammers are reluctant to send the Switzerland international striker on loan to the Baggies, but they are open to selling him on a permanent contract.
This will come as a blow for Celtic, with Sky Sports recently reporting that the Scottish Premiership giants had agreed to sign Ajeti on a season-long loan deal from the Hammers, with a £5m transfer fee to be paid to the London club next summer if they decided to make it a permanent move.
